How to Calculate the Sizing for You Wedding Table Linen Rentals

If you're planning on table linen rentals for a party whether it is indoor or outdoor, it’s important for you to know the size of the table and the size of the linen needed to get the exact look that you're looking for. The table linen rentals are the cornerstone of the decor and design of any occasion. For a wedding, the wedding reception can rely on linens to assure that table linen rentals, as well as chair cover rentals and other fabrics provide a tight themed look. For a corporate event, table linens are a way to make a room feel more sophisticated and professional. Because there are multiple ways to define the design of the actual linen hang, there are a few terms that you should become familiar with.

Your Table Linen Rentals Sizing Terms

A “Topper” is when the tablecloth only covers the top of the actual table itself.

The "Drop" is the amount of overhang that you find on the edges of the table. The drop is generally acceptable in several lengths. Most notably, 9'', 12'', 15’’, 18’’, 21'', 24'', 27'', and 30”.

"To the Floor" is exactly what it means. The table linen rentals fall to the floor all around the table itself.

It is important to understand these terms for table linen rental, as they affect the actual design.

There are also different kinds of tables to consider as far as table linen rentals are concerned. There are "round" tables, "banquet" tables, and "square" tables. Round tables and square tables seem an obvious choice. Banquet tables are the long rectangular tables. It is important to know exactly what kind of tables you want and have for your event. You will need the exact dimensions of your tables to make sure that the linens you order will be able to have the hanging effect that you're looking for. Because this hanging effect can drastically alter the design aspect of the setting, it is very important to know the measurements in an exact way. Choosing table linen rentals can be an easy task as long as you know exactly what numbers you're looking for.

Four Sizes for Round Tables for Your Table Linen Rentals

132'' allows for a 72'' round table to have the linen to the floor. A 120'' linen will allow for the 60'' table to go to the floor, while allowing a 24'' drop for a 72'' round table. To get the "to the floor" effect for a 48'' round table, you need a 108'' linen. To get a to the floor drop for the 30'' round table, you need a 90'' linen. For banquet tables, the only reasonable option is “to the floor.” For an 8'x30'' banquet table, you will need a 90''x156'' sized linen. For a 6'x30'' banquet table, you will need a 90''x132'' table linen. To get a 15'' “drop” on either banquet table size, you will need a 60''x120'' linen.

To get a to the floor effect with a square table, you will need to use a round linen; preferably on the larger size: between 120'' and 132''. Other than that, the only major available linen for a square table is a topper. It's hard to have a “to the floor” drop with a square table with just a single piece of linen. If you are looking for a “to the floor” effect with a square table, and the lines are too large, you can place one in one direction, and layer the other over it going the other direction to get the effect of the “to the floor” drop with your table linen rentals.

All of the numbers surrounding wedding table linen rentals can be confusing. Knowing the exact dimensions, however, with a few measurements, can make the process incredibly easy. Know what you want, the size of your table, and the company that you are renting table linens from will be able to help you with the rest.
